Saboo’s Aura collection uses Inlay & engraving techniques which are visible in the majestic Taj Mahal, situated in India’s ancient city of Agra. The most striking feature of the Mugal architect in the famed monument is engraving of marble to embrace special gems stones.

To carve the surrounding precious stones involves skillful hands and a deep knowledge of stone-cutting. A task which Saboo’s adept craftsmen handle with perfection.

Saboo is inspired by these historical reminders in the Yaksh Kuber collection where a ‘reincarnation’ of the royal jewels from the Mughal period is unveiled.

A re-birth of a speciality master craft after it got lost amongst the popularity of various other modern techniques of jewellery-making, the pieces of Yaksh Kuber create ‘magic’, fit for the modern Diva.

Ethnic Indian-style jewels are made popular by Saboo, showcasing its expertise in the art of ‘Inlay’ and ‘Partaash’, a decorative technique involving the highest excellence and precision of inserting precious gemstones and engraving into a sculpted gold base, to form patterns and pictures that are seamlessly set within the warmth of the noble metal.

Taj Partash

ANCIENT CRAFT

The combination of marble engravings together with inlay-work found in the Taj Mahal, is inspiration for Taj Partash collection.

Seeped in tradition and invented by the Mughals, the work of Partash originated more than 500 years ago. But, during the British rule in India, which followed the Mughal period, this workmanship somewhat disappeared.

In the Taj Partash collection, Saboo has revived this ancient art.

Here diamond and gemstones are set b Kundan setting method i.e. setting in 24-carat gold, while the jewels are made in 22-carat gold. Essentially, Taj Partash is a combination of three skills - Engraving, Kundan setting and Inlay. The complete fabrication process is done by hand tools…. Similar to what was used 500 years ago with little enhancement.

Entirely, hand-crafted, the pieces in the Taj Partash collection are most labour intensive taking many months to complete just one piece and thus, the pieces are highly sought after.

Kaustubh

PEARL MAGIC

Saboo brings spectacular and innovative jewellery to markets around the globe, right from the source. In the Kaustubh collection, each piece is centred around hand-selected, magnificent natural pearls.

The pearls are so meticulously weaved to the base of the jewel, as if they were never separated, with a beautiful enamel on its inner side. Interesting design elements and stones are used to further enhance its beauty. The Kaustubh collection draws inspiration from the formation of a pearl within an oyster, and the jewels’ painstakingly-crafted woven-pearls exterior reveals an exceptional know-how of this unique craft.

This collection exemplifies the signature art of pearl-weaving which Saboo is known for, harmoniously blending gemstones and yellow gold to highlight the natural golden lustre of the pearls.
